A unique pair of real leaf stud earrings, made using small sections of real oak leaves. The leaves are handpicked and dried, painted with recycled silver metal clay, fired and soldered to the wires which are filed to ensure a nice round end. I have also created a divet to help stop the scrolls coming off. The ear studs are polished by hand to leave a silver shine and finally finished with a protective coating to prevent tarnish.
English oak (Quercus robur) is the most common tree species in the UK. Very slow growing and home to a vast amount of species. Acorns are not produced until the tree is at least 40 years old. English oak differs from sessile oak (Quercus petraea) in that it has acorns on stalks. The acorns are eaten by many species including squirrels, mice and jays.
These ear studs measure c. 0.7 cm (0.27") in length and 0.5 cm (0.19") at the widest point. They come with 925 sterling silver scrolls.
Every item is presented in a recycled pillow box with an anti-tarnish tab, and is posted safely in recyclable wrapping. If you would like to add a giftbox to your order it would make the perfect gift for those who love leaf jewellery or casual jewellery.
