An ethical solo statement earring, very much in fashion this year. The ginkgo leaf is made with recycled fine silver clay, accompanying recycled sterling silver chain and a synthetic turquoise bead. The whole piece hangs on a sturdy recycled silver handmade earwire, which is 0.8 mm and suitable for all ears.
This piece is absolutely one of a kind and unique to the wearer. I have left the silver in it's white sheen that it has after firing, to give it that summer accessories look. I have polished the veins at the top of the leaf so it still has that little silver sparkle.
The leaf measures 2 cm (0.79") across at the widest point and the whole earring has a 12.3 cm (4.84") drop. This earring comes in a recycled pillow box or recycled stylish gift box and wood pulp acetate ribbon, sent in recycled and recyclable packaging. If you would like to purchase it as a pendant instead, please do get in touch.
The maidenhair tree (Ginkgo biloba) is on of the worlds oldest living tree species, around for 350 millions years. This is why it is the Japanese symbol for longevity and endurance, as well as hope and peace in China. It is able to survive in a polluted environment so is therefore commonly planted near streets and roadside in cities.
